  • I am now using the Audiolab M-DAC with a MAC Mini as source and I must say I am very pleased with the improvement in sound quality, much more defined stereo imaging with bags of detail.

Good on you Jake, that is a DAC I have long wondered about. I also approve very much of JW's being on hand to answer all the issues that his punters get.

If I were were looking at the moment the MDAC would be near the top of my audition list, at least in terms of VFM.

We used to have an MDAC thread Jake, but why not start a new discussion with an MDAC review when you are settled? I am sure a few of us would be very interested.
  • There are 4 different filters which give quite subtle differences in presentation, it is worth knowing this when going for a demo, as you may find some 'tweaking' necessary to get the best integration into your particular system.
  • Good points there, JW himself likes the 'Optimal Transient' filter. What have you found to work best?
