Why is my brain telling me...

...that changing the double mains socket on the back of Sov's MTBPS to "unswitched" has made a difference?

    Xtro,
Thanks for that. May try it.
Changed the IEC connector on the DIY mains lead to the TOCA yesterday (£12 from an eBay store - the IEC connector, not the TOCA!) the contacts within the connector appeared to be substantially larger, more chunky and tighter gripping that the cheapo one I'd used previously (I soldered the cable in both cases).
My brain is telling me "smoother", "more definition", "better bass". Maybe it's fooled by the cool-looking casing?

  • Doc, I was going to fit an unswitched socket but as the MTBPS doesnt have an on / off switch I thought I'd give you the option of a switch somewhere.  Glad your still enjoying the old girl.
  • Very much so, Sov!
    Cracking piece of kit. :)
  • Great, to everyone else they are half price !
