Thoughts on Glastonbury 2017

edited June 2017 in Live music
I watched quite a few hours of the festival this weekend, and saw very little that I didn't enjoy.

I thought the Pyramid Stage Headliners were great - Radiohead, Foo Fighters and Ed Sheeran.

The biggest disappointment for me was Rag and Bone Man. The band seemed ill-chosen, the arrangements poor and the whole thing seemed to be poppier than the material on record. Is he going for a mass market, and will end up as a tattooed Cliff Richard? Or will we see him duetting with Alfie Boe on the One Show?

Dizzee Rascal was awful. I've enjoyed some of his earlier stuff, but he sunk into the Grime contingent, who made me feel too old, too white and too lacking in inner London street nous.

Good weather has a great effect on the atmosphere at outdoor festival.
