Win 7/IE users. Can you edit your posts?

Paul (@Quickie) is having problems editing his posts - see this post and following.

Ben is having a look using Win 7 on his TFS, but how about others using Win 7/IE on less specialised kit? Can you edit your posts?

    I've boobed a bit.
Here I am on W7, but I'm on Firefox as I seem to have trashed IE.

    EDIT- it will edit though.

    No.

Make sure you have moved your cursor off of the blue and into the white before you start typing.

Dave.......I can't edit posts on my iPad....no idea if this is connected but it's a consistent problem. Key stays depressed and then the browser session exits after about 20 seconds.

TBH, I'm not sure if this Vanilla template (the default) is supposed to be compatible with iPad and mobile browsers, although I know Ben has accessed the site via his mobile.

Is anyone else having issues with iPad/mobile browsers? If there's enough interest, then I'll look into finding a template that does support iPad/mobiles. No promises, though. It may be a can of worms.</div

I've just edited your post on an iPod touch! - Alan :p
  • Maybe it's just the iPad then. iPhone seems fine as well. iDont know ;;)

Perhaps it is. Just out of interest, do you have an iPad or iPad 2?
  • Hmm. I would have thought it would have worked if the iPhone version of Safari does and the OS X version of Safari does.

I use W7 and have just fired up IE for the first time to test.
  • Interestingly I cannot edit my post with IE, I tried and it had a hissy fit, saying errors were on the page repeatedly in the little text area on the bottom left of the screen. I had to hit the refresh button to stop it.
  • Right - back on FireFox. Whew!

  • Hmm. Part of me says anyone using IE deserves all they get. But that's just me having an anti-Microsoft fit ;-)

I'll have a look a bit deeper into it after I get home, as I have W7 running on a virtual machine on my office Mac.
