LFD Zero Mk1 Integrated

Just received the amp today and managed to hooked it up and have a play with it. The amp will be used in my second system that replaced my Eva2/ tripath combo, which has 35 wpc.

The sound stage of the LFD is very wide and the bass is pretty deep, taut and tuneful. I thought the Eva combo was very good and the LFD certainly didn't disappoint me at all. I am quite please with the sound at the moment.

The background noise is much lower in the LFD than the Eva combo for sure. I know the current version has a lot of great reviews and I couldn't find anything on the Mk1. Has anyone listened to the Mk1 before?

Congrats on your new rig - I hope it lives up to expectation. What's in your main system btw? LFD - well I don't know much about them, except that they are well thought of. Any chance of some pictures, Stephen?

XTC Pre Power Combo

Kef Reference 107 Speakers with Kube

Primare V20 Disc player

Valab Chameleon Dac (Minimax dac pending)

Cables: Silver foil ICs, Verbatim VSA speaker cables

2nd System

LFD Zero/ Monica 2 dac/ Vidj Music Server/ Hagman USB Spdif interface/ Wilmslow Gemini Speakers/ Silver IC / VDH Hybrid Spk Cables.

I love to put some piccys up but don't know how to though. Can someone show me how to do it please?

You need to host them I think - like photobucket or flikr.

Alternatively - and perhaps easier - if the piccies are on your 'puter already, use the 'attach file' command at the bottom left of the text screen. Browse through your computer until you find them. We won't be able to see them until we click on the link that will be made.

Perhaps Dave will clarify on picture hosting though - it hasn't been easy on the new vanilla platform.

Yup. Upload to Flickr or hosting of your choice, and then link using the little picture icon that's third from the right above the edit window. A Flickr account is free.

Please shout if that doesn't make sense.

I don't know the XTC Pre/Power, or most of your second system.

XTC Pre is the one that Martin Collom's personal reference uses. The Pow 1 is a quad amp that can be used for 2 channels, 4 channels or bi-amping, it weights 55lb. Had them for about three years and have no intention to change.

The Verbatim VSA speaker cables are pretty rare in this country and they look very similar to the Townshend Isoda but a bit more expensive.

The gear in the 2nd system are: Monica dac by diy paradise who makes the Eva LDR amp, TheVia dj music server is American and it is about 7 years old and were £3200 new (I paid much less than that).

The Hagman USB/Spdif thingy was one of the first interface in the market. The Gemini speakers was a kit but with some serious upgrade, they have external crossovers with high grade components and Chord Epic for cabling between drive units and crossovers. The tweeters are Morel Supreme which are known for their silky smooth sound.
