Quite good tonight, didn't see anything really useless.

Kasabian aren't as dull as I remember, and Wilco Johnson stole the show with two blockheads. What a super three piece!

Wretch 32 (completely new to me) were quite interesting also.

  • Shall try to remember to watch on Friday.
  • Meh - a bit so-so this week I think.

The 'highlight' was Peter Gabriel with the New Blood Orchestra, which made a lovely sound with it's reworked Solsbury Hill & Red Rain, but was musically irrelevant. I mean - why bother?

It is a free download on B7Ws Society of Sound, so I'll probably give it a fair whirl sometime, should make nice background listening.

Altogether decent show this week I thought, the new orleans contingent being particularly excellent IMO (the wonderful Aaron Neville and the Soul Lehends brass band).

Steve Earle was great, the trendy reggae group (fronted by Hollie Cook) were entertaining and the new Indie group were Pretty solid too. Keb Mo was fantastic, needless to say.

I think it's that one show of the season that's pretty consistently decent.

Except for the embarrassing headline act - Lou Reed with Metallica. Yeugh!
