Jim said:David Murray Octet - Octet Plays Coltrane
With quite a staggering version of Naima.
Dancing with kids and animals is great fun :)
Alan said:They have a great attitude, but the album is best summed up by the opening three tracks.
Their version of 'war' is stunning, and quite unique; it started as a mistake by one of their number, which was built on and the whole thing evolved. Check it out on spotify - turn it up though! Really high...

Is that quite a new one? I have a couple of DM Octet CDs from quite a few years back.
UglyMusic said:Maybe I'll give it a listen when I come round in the new year.

Babel - Klaus Schulze and Andreas Grosser
I've got this on CD but
keep forgetting to find it when I'm away from the computer. Spotify has
it, and it's a single track almost an hour long so I don't get any
annoying adverts for a while. They do seem to queue up a few adverts for
people listening to very long tracks though, not something I'd noticed
before.

Hah! Love the title :)
Now:
Dave Frank - Solo Piano
Jim said:How'd you go with Dave Frank?
Jim said:I've only heard his solo work so wouldn't know. I like it.
Uh, what's wrong with Clapton?
tenpastmidnight said:(Also swapped to Chrome as this was playing up in Firefox, this time not keeping me logged in. I have a feeling my problems are with FF rather than the site.)

Time to differ! He bores the pants off me - but then I never got into the blues, and particularly the UK's 60s stuff.

Love the picture!!
The 60s UK is not my favourite. I prefer the Delta Blues. Lots of folk I know says he bores them, just shows how different we all are. I love his dexterity and fluidity.

I was looking for the version that says Clapton is dog, but found that instead, which I think is better!I once described Clapton as being to John Lee Hooker what Kenny G is to John Coltrane, but I'm still recovering from the injuries@-)
