You get effin' used to it.

Had some jpw ap2s in for a week or so while them goodwoods big daddies are getting beefed up.
The jpw's sound weedy and brittle. Except now, after a week, they don't.
Thank you Mr. "render all things acceptable, and negate long-term judgement, hifi opinion is meaningless" Brain.

  • Give it a week or so then try again Ben ;-)
  • Looking forward to it. :-)
  • You do get used to the quirks of your own system. I think one latches on to the good stuff, and if it is good, then you tune out to the less good stuff.

I guess that's why so many others' systems sound disappointing when you hear them.

I believe my system sounds fantastic, but others will be underwhelmed or annoyed by it.

I believe the benefits of good digital are almost overwhelming. I believe others take a different view :-)

    But WTH!
  • I've never heard your system, but i love your point.
Had the jpws been knew i'd have been rambling on about their settling in / burning in. Like the idiot i am.
  • Well, you'll just have to come down and hear it bro'!

Were the JPWs cold - had they been stored somewhere unheated? - when you put them in the system?
  • That may have contributed initially Dave. Well spotted. =D>
But I think the psycho-acoustic effect has still been a factor.

...it could just have been the "psycho" bit   X_X
  • Well either the RFC-Goodmans are "settling in"  ;) , or I'm getting even more used to them 8-> , or both =D>
Whatever the case, utterly stunning. \:D/
