Very competent. I am enjoying listening to it as a type this. :-) It's a bit sparse for me to be really sucked in completely. Also, the drummer's consistently behind the beat playing (deliberate in intent I'm sure, and difficult to keep up) is distracting my brain more than I like and making it feel to me less like "music" (see recent thread!).
The sparseness is part of what makes it special for me. There's a feeling of relaxed tightrope walking.
Excellent description Dave. Have you considered a career in writing...? For me to really enjoy a piece of music I think it needs to feel grounded and safe; nothing left hanging. Tightropes make me yearn for resolution and security.
