I bet those Wharfedales sound surprisingly excellent too! I remember using my "stunt" Technics speakers to set up my Aclass amps and was gob smacked at what they managed to release sound wise.
I enjoy big 70s speakers. :-) Those ones are Goodmans Goodwoods actually, which leant themselves extremely well do being modernised. But I do have some old Wharfdales in my 2nd system. Though whatever the manufacturer, or the vintage, George likes speakers very much more when they are silent.
