Super-surround sound at Tate Modern

edited July 2017 in Other music
Had one of my mooches around London over the weekend.
Highlight was Janet Cardiff's audio installation "The Forty Part Motet" at Tate Modern.
A ring of 40 speakers (all B&W DM303), each playing a different and individually mic'd singer from Salisbury Cathedral Choir singing a Thomas Tallis piece.

An absolutely magical experience.

  • That sounds like it would be worth the trip to the big smoke for. I'll have to see when it's on until.
  • Ben how long is it on for, just down the road for me.

    Good luck!
It was down in the basement bit. Which I think is called "the tanks" (as they used to be large oil tanks).
