Chet Baker

I read a nice piece about trumpeter Chet Baker today.

He doesn't feature much in my listening because I'm not much of a fan of West Coast Cool Jazz - my mania for Art Pepper, one of its most famous practitioners, is really only for his last period when he'd absorbed Free Jazz and Coltrane, in particular. I'm possibly missing an important jazz figure.

Anyway, give the piece a read if you're interested in Baker.

In fact the only thing I currently know about him is this rather pleasant song about him...
