Today is Thelonious Monk's birthday

Some of you will know my dog is called Thelonious. His birthday is not today.

    Possibly my favourite of the jazz greats. At least, the amount I like his music seems to be fairly consistent across a number of his albums.

    In many ways, he's one of the most difficult of the jazz greats, but he arrived fairly well-formed in his own avant-garde. That's how I see it, anyway.
    Since we've had Thelonious Dog, I've been listening to much more Thelonious Monk.
