I'm not happy with the latest story about TQ
And the musician has been promoted to sound engineer. What a load of lies a crap I wish the press would tell the truth about these idiot bullies.
Oh and check now the statement "American cable manufacturer"
What a joke.

Tellurium Q Origins
Many customers have asked how Tellurium Q® came about and how the American cable manufacturer is operating to make its cables perform so differently from what is currently available on the market. Tellurium Q® has had some trouble nailing down details about the performance of their products because there are trade secrets and production methodologies that they definitely don't want to share with their competitors. Sometimes, as manufacturers, they are too cautious and this causes some problems for reviewers and their distributors to explain the advantages of their products, and especially to demonstrate with specific data those differences in the sound performance of their cables compared to those of their competitors.
What is the main argument for cable distributors, a hook, a reason to listen when there are so many companies claiming important things? Why should people believe that Tellurium Q® has a genuinely different approach? Yes, an end customer can appreciate the difference within seconds of listening to their reference tracks using their equipment with Tellurium Q® cables, but the big problem is giving people a reason to want to listen to the cable. In the UK, this is less of an issue, as more and more high-end users are giving feedback to their friends (known as word-of-mouth) and industry professionals are doing comparative reviews that pique the curiosity of users around the world.
However, what are the origins of the brand, how did Tellurium Q® come about and what has been your experience to be able to develop all your products?
Geoff Merrigan's official position at Tellurium Q® is CEO; however, what most people don't know is that his original background was in industrial chemistry (materials, etc.) and he has maintained his passion for science and learning through a series of activities that have given Tellurium Q its unique approach.
An interest in learning, learning more and more about sound was what led him, together with Simon Lomax, a sound engineer, to develop a music learning system where students learned to play musical instruments at an extraordinary speed (see for yourself at musicskills.co.uk). This project also paved the way for a novel approach to audio cable development, although Geoff didn't know it at the time.
In the early days of Tellurium Q®, Geoff developed many of the prototypes himself, building a considerable number of cables in the hands of customers. This experience, coupled with his knowledge of materials science, allowed him to acquire an extensive mental database and therefore the ability to visualise simulations of various materials, configurations and how they were likely to behave. A great advantage for the design of physical cables."
Comments
So many of our clients write to me during their cable selection process that they are disgusted by what they have learned about 'that company' and the talentless gremlins responsible for your mugging. So don't worry about what gets publicized, it seems that a good number of people are now aware of the truth, and there are more each day. The truth is out there!
Origins: a tangle.
For those of you wondering what I am talking about, Colin was the designer, and indeed the obliquely aforementioned chemist with extensive material science knowledge, not to mention chartered electrical engineer, who developed the tellurium q - I am sorry, that should be - the award winning tellurium q cable designs. Those very same hard earned qualifications and extensive experience that now appear to be baselessly co-opted and conferred upon just about anybody, no doubt for marketing reasons. There is a vacuum of sorts at that company, and it is indeed abhorrent.
Incidentally the design concept that became tq was originally offered by Colin to Naim, but they were not in a position to run with it at the time. The more recent hot air emanating from former business partners in darkest Somerset (not America!), in a transparent attempt to grab credit for Colin's experience and ground breaking work strikes me as odious and far fetched.
Of course the products are good, by way, they were designed to be by a man who knew what he was doing.
Funnily enough, what Colin had up his sleeve would have really pushed the envelope and sealed that company's reputation as an innovative and creative concern. But they binned that opportunity when they binned Colin, their designer and founding partner. Perhaps the reason they have trouble nailing down the technical details of their products is because they have nobody that knows them to ask?
Although Colin soon found himself on the ground, having been deprived both of his job and his home, he would not stay down.
When Colin and Alan (Elsdon) created EWA a short while later it was with a view to getting that great idea of his out into the wild. But Colin had to be creative and make sure that no patents or intellectual property - that may now be contestable - were bought into play. So the original idea that could have been the making of tq was just left to rot. But Colin found a better way, a more circuitous route to his goal but ultimately a more effective one with stronger results than he previously attained.
It is true to say that the EWA designs now produced are two or three generations of development on from Colin's initial work founding tq. This allows for the use of different materials and a different form factor.
The drawback to us is EWA cables are substantially more expensive to manufacture than tq ever was, by many times the amount. But EWA cables all perform better, far better, in relation to Colin's original design goals. Every. Single. One. And, we sell directly to the public so we are also way, way cheaper.
ABCaudio came about when Alan Elsdon wanted to step back, and Colin felt minded to do the same. The goal always was, and remains, that Colin Wonfor gets credit for profoundly moving audio cable technology forwards (not once, but now twice). Credit where it is due and deserved, Colin Wonfor designed tq and he designed the even better EWA cables system. We won't allow his name to be whitewashed.
