    Oh poop, Chris.

I hope it's nothing too serious.
Not too bad in the end, I had a dodgy 3.3v connection to my USB isolator, frequent board removals for trying new tweaks had stressed it but it was hidden under shrink wrap and holt melt glue.

The toonz are flowing again. I hit just any file which turned out to be...

    That'll do donkey!

One of his very best, among so much incomparable music.

The much maligned Pink Floyd "The Final Cut", in the right mood it's superb.

  • I think we need something heavier again!

If this is your first listen skip the first 20 seconds so you don't get too scared ;)

  • Some more thoughtful, rocky stuff...two from a favourite band.

  • Just had my first listen to Santana IV, their latest featuring most of the original band. Very much a continuation of where they left off, allowing for a few decades of maturity!

Familiar structures and sounds with a few stand out tracks. Never reaches the heady heights of their early recordings but none the less a good listen and on my shopping list.

  • Very into these guys (Disrupt) at the moment.
Their brand of electro-dub is perfectly suited to what I'm wanting at the moment out of my Wonfor meets BIG speakers system at the moment...

(Loving the "7Hz" and "Bass" tattoos on the sumos! :-D )

Still think their "Foundation Bit" album is better tho...

Apparently to scary for child-friendly "restricted mode" on my lappy!
    X_X
  • I'm surprised by that. No naughty words or pictures. I only warned on the first 20secs because of a thrash metal style intro....maybe a blanket setting as some of their songs do have the aforementioned.
  • Deep Blue - Ian Clark. Flutey tootiness  - not the official review  ;)

    Ah, shucks, thanks :-)
  • I'm entrenched in dub at the moment.
Ordered 6 new (used) dub CDs today.

At the moment it's this (provoked an interesting existential discussion with my 9 year old when played in the car earlier - a bit like one might have had after a couple of smokes one late night at uni :-D ):

Just to remind me of a cable description old times.

  • A recently renewed interest in Nick Cave after not listening for what seems likes ages...Claymore on duty, very loudly!

  • Aaahhhhh, Nick. Just gotta love him.
  • Catfish and the bottle man
  • I'm not a huge fan of Gorillaz or Damon Albarn (not a huge enemy either you understand), but add a lot of tape-loop echo, some Moog Minitaur bass type synth, some massively reverbed horns, a dubby vibe, and hey presto. Big smiles all round. :-)

Spacemonkeyz v Gorillaz "Laika Come Home".

  • New to me...

    Jackie McLean - Destination Out

Love this album. And I particularly love Grachan Moncur III's trombone playing. Strange that. I don't generally like the old 'bone.
