FWIW, there are three strands to his work. Small group (including the Blue Notes), Big Band (The Brotherhood of Breath) and solo piano, like In His Good Time. There are real gems in all three strands, and very little substandard material.
I buy anything and everything as I notice it being reissued.
One of those early pieces of the jigsaw that led me into jazz. Still sounds fantastic with one of my all-time favourite bass & drums combos laying down unfeasibly deep grooves.
I hadn't thought too much about the implications of this line-up, but Prism is very different from the acoustic bands Holland has led in recent years. Maybe more like the Gateway Trio in flavour.
