Vassilis Tsabropulous, Arild Andersen and John Marshall - Achirana
Fairly standard ECM piano trio fayre, brilliantly recorded with Andersen's double bass in the room with me. If you like this kind of stuff, you'll like this.
I have 'Chaser' and 'After the Rain' . There's a track on 'After the Rain' that just blows my mind , it has the same kind of vibe as 'Small Hours' by John Martyn .
I have Chaser, QED, Rarum Vol 7 (compilation) and on a CD called The Sea, which I think is really Ketil Bjornstad's album. I also have him on some Jan Garbarek, but my meta tagging isn't up to finding which ones.
I've got Chaser, but not After The Rain, although I think I know it. Doesn't it have strings on?
Yes, After the Rain may be his first album, 1976 . Almost a one-man effort , his wife ( I assume ) is credited with vocals , but he plays "electric and acoustic guitars, string ensemble, piano, electric piano , soprano saxophone, flute, tubular bells, bells" . There's a lot of very subtle work high up on the guitar with sustain . Definitely tonal and atmospheric, rather than vigorous .
My favourite of Blythe's later albums, partly because it has the great Bob Stewart on tuba instead of a bassist. Stewart is the common factor in many of Blythe's best albums.

What a blast from the past! This album was sooo important to me when I was a teen. I have never heard it so totally immersing as today though.
