@Colin You have got to hear this! The Green Goddess and the Royds have re-written the laws of physics (or maybe it's that guy who builds strange coloured amps). I've got that foundation-rocking double bass. Unbelievable!

Will try this one later Dave.
You have this album James?
No. Anything with foundation-rocking double bass has to be checked out. I'm enjoying some class A action myself at the moment, although my version isn't green...and it has valves B-)

Valves??? Valves???? Valves!!!!!!
Sorry. Had to get that out of my system (sorry for the terrible unintentional pun).
How're are you getting on with them?
The Paul Motian album is on ECM (of course), but I don't think there's an HD remaster available :-(
Just to please @Colin, it's an analogue-age recording ;-)

Couldn't find the album on Spotify so got it from iTunes for a listen later - if it's good I'll buy the CD.
Valve amp is a KT88 DIY unit I've borrowed from a mate. It's all of 10 watts and sounds glorious with my speakers....so good in fact I've sold my nCores. The search starts for a low watter of my own now (not necessarily glowing bottles but seems likely).
Yes, that would probably do the trick. Going to be next spring before I can aim for the likes of that though. I just bought a Temple Audio Bantam Gold so I can at least keep the tunes spinning, sorry, streaming
It's an album that could have been put out on ECM. Really nice, free-ish, small group jazz with John Abercrombie, Dave Liebman and George Mraz playing superbly.
Far be it for me to be negative... But I wonder why I've been listening to this. Nucleus were often the plodding navvies of Brit Jazz/Rock. This is them at their worst.
What should I listen to to put me in a better mood?

Stunning performances, and the sound quality of the Heaton Park footage is brilliant. Some of the best hi-res I've heard.
