Both alto players, somewhere around Dolphy/Jackie Mclean (in his freer moments). Recorded in the early 60s, it's a minor masterpiece, according to many people. I think I agree with them.
Simmons appeared again in the mid 90s, after 20 years or so living on the street in San Francisco after some kind of breakdown, if I remember rightly. I don't know what happened to Prince Lasha.

I must admit I preferred his second to his debut (which wasn't by any means shabby).

Which I understand within a few years of its release he disowned. Never knew why, I really rate it. Not the best sound quality though.
