  • Can you measure the difference, though? :-\"
  • A little clarity perhaps, less congestion in the mid to lower bass (an issue with small speakers). A little clean up that seemed to improve the front to back imaging in particular.

Its not night & day by any means, I just enjoyed things a bit more, it all felt a little faster. Of course, I could be imagining it all - as I said to you before I'm not that
confident when trying to identify exactly what I hear.

I've got the DAC & Lightspeed on it BTW.

Also I had to disconnect and reconnect all my stiff I/Cs, which sometimes helps too.

Pretty much what it's supposed to do.  Leave it a few days then remove it, that should be more obvious.
  • Can you measure the difference, though? :-\"

Easily, his DAC is now about 40mm higher off the rack
    :-))
  • Don Cherry - Art Deco
  • Trudat! Eat it, objectivistDave! :D

I was going to measure it as approx 30 x 70...

BTW, interesting 15 minute programme on BBC R4 called Key Matters, discussing the emotional effect of different keys (particularly b minor) and their intended effect in various pieces. Should be on iPlayer.
  • Was:

  • Gertcha is a classic no doubt
    Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit :-)
  • Not one of favourites, I far prefer their grittier, social commentary work.
  • I think they are great, and that they would have been great to headline the Olympic opening ceremony.

  • John Coltrane - The Other Village Vanguard Tapes (Disk 2)

Nik Baertsch's Mobile - Ritual Groove Music

    Now:

    Phronesis - Alive (24/41)
  • Radio Paradise on the phone as I work in the sun.

  • That's a coincidence. I'm listening to Nik Baertsch's Mobile :-)
  • You might be listening to an album called mobile, but I'm actually living the dream, man - listening to an actual mobile! Beat that! (oh, you did...)
  • Looks for large stick...
  • War Requiem - Britten

Scary scary music especially on vinyl !

  • It is. I'm a bit of a fan of old Ben, but although I know the piece, I don't have a copy. Maybe I should.
  • Was was Neil Young - Live at Massey Hall

On the strength of a couple of listens, this is at least up there with any number of post-EST piano trios.

Portico Quartet - Portico Quartet (24/44)
  • That any good Dave? I assume its the new B&W release?
  • It didn't grab me on first listening. But I'll give it another go.

    Yup. It's the B&W release.
  • I won't be renewing my sub next month. Before I go I will likely grab that Portico & the recent Dub Colossus (I liked the first one).
  • Too much mainstreamy classical stuff for you?
  • Yeah - and Peter Gabriel... I quite like the classical, I downloaded most of it but haven't played the bulk of it yet. It's something I will have to 'get around to'.
  • Yeah. I'm stockpiling a lot of that stuff, too.
