Truly astonishing sound quality - ECM on steroids. I only wish they'd make all there material available in 24/96 (or above!). Oh, and the music is just a bit good as well - on many of 2011's top jazz album lists.
Correction! Audirvana and the Young tell me it's in 24/88.2.
Louis Moholo-Moholo, Johnny Dyani, Dudu Pukwana and Rev. Frank Wright - Spiritual Knowledge and Grace
Wholly improvised, but with structure, swing, pulse and all those things that are so often missing from improv. It's totally absorbing. I wish I'd been there.

Is there anything else you'd like Dobby to do?

Pompous title for anything-but-pompous improvisations.
And all possible because Chris McGregor was delayed.
Nice album, though.

Another ECM hi-res. This time 24/96.
There's lots of electronics, so this one is kind of bathed in luxurious atmosphere. Not as jaw-dropping as the Charles Lloyd.
Stevie Wonder - Number Ones
Now:
Dr John - Gris-Gris
I love this album. Just when I thought I'd slipped into my own musical parallel universe, it's the most interesting chart music I've heard in yonks.
Often forgotten, this one, but I like it. Recorded, like a significant part of his output, live in Japan.
James Blake - James Blake
Now:
Robert Glasper - Canvas
Because it is :-D
Good for this time of, er, day ;-)
