OK. So I've missed the charms of Mr Adams completely.
Where do I start? Preferably on Spotti.
I don't know what's there, but some faves:
Gold (quite commercial as far as he goes, some great tunes. A good entry point)
Heartbreaker (Epic)
29
Love is Hell (Hard work but superb)
Ashes & Fire (newest, not given it much time yet)
He is a great storyteller, pure Americana and a phenomenal player. He cares about the SQ of his records too, they are genuinely excellent which is not so common for a rock/blues artist with a large fanbase.
What a fantastic uplifting album, with a touch of Archie Shepp's Attica Blues. Except for that version of My Cherie Amour, and other occasional lapses of taste, of course ;-) But Kirk's energy even makes Say a Little Prayer enjoyable.
Whiskeytown were an alt-country (very loosely) band fronted by Ryan Adams, which imploded due to the difficulties of working with Mr Adams, so it is said.
Eric Bibb, Painting Signs. I've heard Eric live and he doesn't sound the same as on his CDs. IMO Eric live sounds like Keb' Mo' on CD - if you like Eric then have a lsten to Keb' Mo', I recomend his 1994 Eponymous album.

Before the World Saxophone Quartet, there was SOS. And it was good :-)

The first time I've played this since I've had the Graphite cables. Wow! The subtleties in this music are there big time!
I can feel some more Stanko coming on ;-)

Great music, sq is of 'excellent bootleg' level, so nothing to show your rig off with.
Gwan rood boy innit!!
