Eric Bibb, Painting Signs. I've heard Eric live and he doesn't sound the same as on his CDs. IMO Eric live sounds like Keb' Mo' on CD - if you like Eric then have a lsten to Keb' Mo', I recomend his 1994 Eponymous album.

Thanks Mike
I must confess to knowing nothing of Keb' Mo', but I do like Eric. I shall have to investigate.
A lovely old recording (1959) where you can hear the musician in place, arranged around the studio. The music is also just a bit good ;-) One of jazz's must-haves.
Coltrane - A love supreme. (is the high rez version worth the premium on this one?)
John Mayer - Heavier Things.
Both played yesterday afternoon when I got the house to myself, but neither really did anything for me. Maybe it's the wrong time of year…
I thought ALS wasn't worth the premium until I realised I'd mistakenly converted the FLACs to 16/96 AIFFs. Duh!
It's also one of the many recordings that's really come alive through the Graphites, so exploding my theory that it wasn't worth buying hi-res versions of old recordings.

My favourite of his albums. Can these guys swing! Effortless grooves.
