I spent the other evening with them on BBC4, a doc and then a live concert. Thay were my first live gig, and my son loves them too now! I just love L & L. I've been humming 'Matty Groves' for two days now...
I also went to drumming workshop with Dave Mattacks about 12 years ago, when I played. Lovely man.
Now: RadioParadise on the fartfone with my AKGs, driving in my van. HIfi it ain't, but I'm happy!

I missed them on BBC4. I'll have to have a rummage on iPlayer, as L&L is one of my favourite albums of all time.

Black fruitbowl
I'll have to get a copy methinks. If it is a joy to behold, that is.
Another fruitbowl :-)

XX, by the XX. Lots of very low bass on this but in a mellow way rather than wubwub.
After decades of drought, over the past few years a huge amount of McGregor/Blue Notes/Brotherhood stuff has become available.
Just about every time I look on Amazon, I find more. I'm hooked - and the coffers are being emptied!
Edit: On first playing, I'm not sure this one is one of the best.
David Sylvian & Robert Fripp - The First Day
Donald Byrd - Free Form
Not one of either Byrd's or Blue Note's finest. Or maybe it was just my start to the day...
The most boring of all the current generation of sax players, to my ears, lets loose on this album and sounds all the better for it.
