Does that count as doom-laden, or is it something else entirely?
Or could it be "ugly" rock
I'm not sure how much I want to be associated with it.
I did buy it when I stumbled on it not long after it came out in Tower Records at Piccadilly Circus, so I guess I must have some responsibility
The cover was so controversial, I later learned, that the first shipments were seized by the UK authorities. When I bought it, the CD was covered in black plastic.
Transformations, a few, but then again to few to remember. This afternoon Steely Dan. Yes I know how overused there albums were, but the track My old School is something special IMO.
Been better. though smoked enough to cure Bob Marley's head, drunk enough to kill Richard Burton. So no big surprises here. Have two great kids and a wife of 50+ Years what more could anyone ask for?
And now on to an absolute monster of a 70s ECM album. Another early horizon stretcher for me.
Ralph Towner - Batik
There's one more track on YT, but you know the way it is with ECMs...
Anyway, the intensity these guys generate without making a load of noise is amazing. And it's great hearing bassist Eddie Gomez in a less conventional setting.
Have not been listening to much vinyl for a while now, mostly CD and YouTube. So as anyone who has been there fired up the old fruitbox and after awhile had a fiddle once sorted put on my "test album" sad isn't it, Toto 1V. This album boogies. Great production, great musicians and great songs, or maybe its just me Delusional or what?

John Surman - Road to Saint Ives
Looks like only one track on YT
Why does this make me laugh? (Sorry, I'm not taking the piss, but I did find something funny about it).

On the strength of one track, they are taking themselves far too seriously, I agree.

But the Crusaders have a big part to play in my conversion to the way of jazz (yeah, I know, I still have to tell that story. Laterz! )
Enrico Rava and Joe Lovano - Roma
As usual with ECM albums, there's not much on YT. Streaming is your friend.
Joe Lovano and Hank Jones - Kids: Live at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola
I really wasn't sure I'd enjoy this, but Lovano is in fantastic form!

Slippery, funky, think JJ Cale with added spice. Except he is from Portland.
Bearzetti, Gallo and Tamborinno - Post-Atomic Zep
This live video gives you a flavour of it.
For more, I refer you to streaming, I'm afraid.
