    Craig Taborn - Avenging Angel.

2011's best piano album, IMO. Absolutely essential if you like solo piano - not you, Col!
  • Fela Kuti - Army Arrangement digital
    Government Chicken Boy?
Yup just finished. I prefer the title track though.

The Taborn sounds good. Is it on Spotty?
  • I don't know if the Taborn is on Spotti. A lot, if not all, ECMs disappeared a while back.

I think I played it to you when I came round sometime.

FWIW, I think it's stronger than Jarrett's Rio, but I'm still digesting Rio.
  • MMW - Combustication Spotify

The new Taborn isn't on there yet.
  • A lot of stuff has disparood from there. There's hardly any Dylan left.

    Yes, I care!!
  • That means I can't investigate which are the one-and-a-half listenable albums :D
  • A gradual improvement in your listening there, Mr B :D

Just ask the next time you're here, you could hear everything the record companies have put out and plenty more besides. It would be my pleasure to educate you in the ways of the Zim.
  • Forget about it Jim, he's happy in his glasshouse!
    :D
  • Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited digital

    Just for Dave **==
  • Well, thank you, Jim :-)
  • Joe Henderson - Canyon Lady vinyl

OK, you lot. Enough of your pop and easy listening, and time for some proper Ugly Music :-)

Oh no. But that's another story that involves car batteries ;-)
  • Hilmar Jensson - Ditty Blei

Played now, because on a previous playing @Jim thought I was joking :-)
  • Anything to do with Steven Stills?
  • His son.

Its a very very nice record, cracking acoustic rock. Superb SQ also.
  • Another one to play on Spotti, then.

You got me there?  Don't remember that.
  • It's probably further back in this thread.
  • R3 through the telly again!

While waiting for some extra muscle to assist with the kitchen re fit.
  • Mr Muscle!!!  :D

    Polar Bear - Dim Lit.

    Their first album.

    Tony Allen - Secret Agent.

    Ooooh! Don Cherry, nice.
  • Don Cherry - Art Deco digital
  • Wynton Marsalis & Eric Clapton - Play The Blues Live From The Lincoln Centre. digital

Played in the style of an old New Orleans jazz band. Ernormous fun!!

A very impressive new slice of British Jazz on the Naim label, of all places.

I have an inkling that rock fans may like a lot of this - you can play back some of it on Naim's site, if you want to Google it.
  • The Soul Rebels Brass Band - Unlock Your Mind digital

    Fantastic!

Tim Berne's Bloodcount - Poisoned Minds: The Paris Concert I
  • The Soul Rebels Brass Band - Unlock Your Mind digital

    Fantastic!
I got this along with that Marsalis/Clapton album you mentioned recently as birthday presents. Both are really good. The Soul Rebels album is great fun.
  • Totally agree, can't stop playing either of them!
  • The Marsalis/Clapton is much better than I expected. It has real balls. Big surprise!
  • Sinikka Langeland - The Land That Is Not

A Norwegian(?) vocalist with various jazzers and others in folky/ambient/jazzy melange. It's on ECM, of course, and is a lovely recording.

    In glorious 24/96 ;-)
  • Nothing at all. Too many jobs to do this am. I'm missing my usual Saturday morning Hifi session.
    :-(
Only have time to type this as I'm taking a dump.
Next. chopping fire wood, later to Glaws v Blues at kingsholm with some old Cardiff mates.
May be some listening time later.

Too much detail, Doc. I know you're a medical man, but you'll be on to colour, texture, weight, volume and odour next :-&

Saturday shredding from Messrs Bjorkenheim, Laswell and Agren.
  • BB&C - The Veil

Not too far from the above, but infinitely more satisfying. Messrs Berne, Black and Cline are in boggling form, making just as much noise, but not lumbering themselves with a Metal framework for their music.

Now where's that link to my photo-bucket account...?
  • Just as long as its only photos in your bucket!
  • Food - Food
  • Jason Moran - Modernistic
  • Radio Paradise, while working. Makes it quite bearable!
