Speaking of David Torn and 80's album by Michael Shrieve 'Stiletto', with Shreeve, Torn, Andy Summers, Mark Isham and Terje Gewelt. Shrieve was formerly Santanas drummer, playing at Woodstock at the age of 17 I seem to remember reading.
Edit: I've just returned to this after watching a movie with SWMBO - I can recommend Winter's Bones, BTW. I don't know why, but this album has just fallen into place. I've had it virtually since it came out, but it had never really bitten.
De La Soul "3 feet high and rising". Makes me feel old. I was 16 when I bought it in 1989/90. Twas the first hiphop I owned. Arguably it's still the best in my LP collection!

Far too long since this had an airing

I may play Steamin' and Workin' later as well.

C Jam Blues is probably my favourite cut.
Just played - Miles Davis, In a Silent Way
On now - Hank Mobley, Soul Station
On next - Kenny Drew, Undercurrent
I also have a hankering to play some Caravan - In the Land of Grey and Pink, I think...

More detail and better "swing" for want of a better word.
I'm think of declaring Monday 21st Feburary as Jarrett Day
