Soft Machine - Bundles, a great album and fortunately its on Spotify
An old mate of mine back in the early 80's got me into this album, he could play the whole album note for note on the guitar just like Alan Holdsworth.
If you guys on here like fusion jazz guitar ten look no further
1st play on the main system, so early days. Apart from a bright 'n shouty first track, I feel this might be something rather special. Lovely arrangements (lots of acoustic geetars), fantastic production, songwriting & storytelling.
i do like indeed, never see any of his stuff on vinyl though, discovered him after one of his tracks was played on late junction on bbc r3 , it was from a sound track he did for a film called ramparts d'argile ,superb bit of music, , that reminds me a friend has a loan of the texier stuff, must get it back! going to have a hunt for 'suite africaine' on the black stuff tonight, all the best
I love this band and this is a good one of theirs. 'Nuff said!
noticed texier on the label, as in ' Henri Texier'?
Yup. That's the one. With Louis Sclavis on reeds and Aldo Romano on drums.
Sorry, that should be 'Pussy Cat Dues', from 'Ah Um'. I must buy this.
You must. It has Fables of Faubus, which is a must-have for anyone interested in modern jazz, politics and humour (all at the same time). And I don't care if you're not ;-)
