  • A bit of frank Sinatra earlier (my first time with old blue eyes...). Now Ella and Louis.
    It's a trad' jazzy kind a day.
Later Wales v Italy - there's music in there somewhere...!
  • N.W.A - Straight Outta Compton
  • N.W.A - Straight Outta Compton
I always preferred their Soho Remixes.

Straight Outta Old Compton Street :-)

    :)) =))

    Very good!
  • Joe Bonamassa - Sloe Gin
  • Bill Laswell - Sacred System: Chapter 2
  • Craig Taborn - Junk Magic
  • Sitting on the beach listening to the sea. Wonderful clarity and the dynamics are huge.
  • Archie Shepp - Four For Trane
  • Anthony Braxton and Joe Morris - Four Improvisations
  • Joe Morris on guitar or bass?
  • Sounds like both on different tracks
  • Any good?
  • Patchy I'd say and I generally like Braxton
  • Bonnie Prince Billy - Ease On Down The Road
  • Caravan - In The Land Of Grey And Pink

    Forgot how good this was!
  • I used to have a copy of that years ago. Heaven knows where it went.
  • It's easy to hear what Blur were listening to before they recorded Park Life :)
  • The first track in particular sounds a lot like the Park Life album
  • It's ages since I heard either, and my brain can't associate the two.
  • I would never have either until I heard the Caravan

    Food - Last Supper
  • Ornette Coleman - Tomorrow Is the Question

    Vinyl and sounds fantastic
  • Art Pepper - The Intimate Art Pepper

    More vinyl
  • The Fully Celebrated - Drunk on the Blood of the Holy Ones

This sounds fantastic as a Redbook rip (better than a 24/192 album I have and have just compared it to). I have to wonder what this one would sound like at higher res?
  • Tim Berne - Snakeoil
  • Canonball Adderley - Something Else
  • Keith Jarrett - Koln Concert

Playing on Dave's new speakers B-)
  • And what's it sound like?
  • edited March 2012
Ingrid Laubrock Sleepthief - The Madness of Crowds

Yet another modern small-label recording that sounds phenomenal. But, then, so often Tom Rainey's drums sound incredible. And so do the sax and keyboards - no bass in this band, like some of the line-ups Rainey has played in with Tim Berne.
  • Pharaoh Sanders - Village of the Pharaohs

Just bought this as part of a bargain-priced Impulse Twofer (two LPs on one CD). Well worth seeking out if you're into stuff like this. Also bought some Alice Coltrane and some Marion Brown.

    Good stuff.
Dave and Alan, is that you 2 on the cover...?
  • I couldn't possible comment!

    Marion Brown - Geechee Recollections
  • Jackie Wilson - Mr Excitement!

    Best male vocalist ever IMV
  • MMW - Electric Tonic
  • Jackie Wilson - Mr Excitement!

    Best male vocalist ever IMV
    That's a thread in itself!
  • Charlie Winston - Running Still
  • Jackie Wilson - Mr Excitement!

    Very true!
  • Art Pepper - Modern Art
  • Public Image Limited - Compact Disc (perhaps I should retitle it Ripped AIFF File :-) )
  • Mary Halvorson - Saturn Sings
  • Back Porch Blues - Back To Basics
  • Dr John - Duke Elegant
  • Andrew Hill - Timelines
  • Is that an early or a late Hill?
  • Very late.  2006
  • Charles Mingus - Ah Um

    Wonderful. Another 59er B-)
  • Bill Evans - Waltz For Debby
